A large project which we undertook was at the Fish Hotel, located in the heart of the Cotswolds near Broadway. This was to help stylishly update the windows and doors of its restaurant and dining area. The hotel selected a range of Smart aluminium windows and doors to enable their contemporary design to seamlessly fit the hotel's aesthetic and improve the spaces' energy efficiency through heat retention.
The brief we were provided with focused on maximising natural light while tastefully blending with the Cotswold stone exterior and the restaurant's interior. SMART bifold doors were chosen due to their sleek, thermally efficient aluminium frames, which are known for their durability and slim profiles, allowing uninterrupted views of the surrounding area. This enabled visitors to enjoy not only their meal but also the beautiful countryside, as well as stay warm in the winter months and cool in the summer.
SMART Alitherm 400 small and large casement windows were also used in this project. They were chosen as they matched the aesthetic of the bifold doors to provide consistency in overall build design. Coming in a range of colour options made it easier to meet the design brief given, and their excellent thermal and weather performance makes them a long-lasting option for the hotel, helping to reduce long-term costs.
For the entrance doors, SMART Wall aluminium doors proved to be the optimal option. It is suitable for establishments where improved thermal performance is needed, especially for this hotel, where a high footfall is to be expected. This enables greater heat retention, which is important for the hotel to provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere for guests.
As part of the brief given to us, we installed two new SMART aluminium fire doors. These are crucial in an emergency as they help to protect escape routes and slow the spread of fire through the building. Made to the highest standards, these fire doors ensure the hotel puts its guests' safety first.
The result was a beautiful blending together of modern windows and doors with heritage Cotswold architecture, delivering both visual appeal and functional performance.
